Welcome to Amazing Koh Tau!
This is a website for anyone interested in learning more about the wonderful island of Koh Tau. It's been compiled by a bunch of people who are in love with this little island hidden away in The Gulf of Thailand.

Koh Tau literally translates as 'Turtle Island' and for good reason. Sea turtles are abundant around it's shores and each year Turtles are released into the wild by the local marine life agency.

Koh Tau is the smallest in a chain of 3 islands in The Gulf of Thailand, which also include the much bigger Koh Samui and Koh Phangnan. The island is only separated by an hour and a half high speed ferry ride and therefore easily accessible throughout the year.

Places to go and things to do...
Here's a few cool activites to do or place to go while you are Amazing Koh Tau. We've compiled them because it's what we like and because WE KNOW you will like them to!

1. Villa Jivarah - Koh Tau's most exclusive sea view spa!
2. Coral Grand Divers - Scuba Dive the fantastic Gulf of Thailand!
3. Rocky Bay - Go there to snorkel with the reef sharks!
4. El Toro Restaurant - Crispy Pizza & Sexy Tex-Mex - superb dining!

Book your lodging online...
We, at Amazing Koh Tau, would very much like to be of service to anyone wishing to secure accommodation on Koh Tau in advance.

During peak season it can be VERY DIFFICULT to find the accommodation you want if you just show up. Those of us who live here on a full time basis witness scores of tired backpackers and families walking up and down the beaches in search for accommodation. Don't be one of them! We recommend you to book online and you can find direct links to all available accommodation as well as objective descriptions on this website. Click here for more information.

When to come here...
The weather is generally great all year around. February and March tend to be the warmest months with very little rainfall, while November is can be quite wet. The weather patterns change from year to year and one thing most Koh Tauians will agree upon is that it very difficult to predict the coming season.

Neighbouring islands
If Koh Samui is famous for it's lovely long beaches and expensive resorts and the smaller Koh Phangan for it's wild full moon parties, then Koh Tau is famous for it's serenity, crystal clear water, great scuba diving, steep rolling hills and beautiful sunsets. So if you are planning to spend some time in Thailand, why not visit us?

Send feedback to Amazing Koh Tau...
We hope you will find this website both useful and entertaining. Contributions to the guestbook, photo gallery or thru any other means are highly appreciated and will be posted on the website if deemed appropriate.
